A Man : The Completion of a Human

There was a man, sent like a gift,
a mercy to mankind.
To tell the world Who they should serve,
and how life should be lived.
He had been honest, just and kind;
nobody heard him lie,
so when he spoke, they did not doubt,
on him they could rely.
"Give me advice!" they said to him,
and often he replied:
"Be not angry," "Give to the poor"
and "Never tell a lie."
Not everyone was pleased at this,
and many sought to fight,
"There may not live a man," they said,
"Who bans what we desire!
the poor will rise, our kingdoms die,
if ever he survives!"

so with one voice, they sought to kill,
the gift they had been sent,
"Quick, bring the swords!" and "Throw the stones!
the man has been possessed!
his name we shall defame,"
they said,
"and his followers oppress.
And who should live another way
when ours is the best?"

But teach he did, despite it all,
and always did forgive.
Until one day, he passed away,
leaving behind two things:
a book from God called the Quran
and the example that he lived.
so generations have passed on,
saying this age-old thing:
Salla allahu alaihi wa sallam
God bless Muhammad, our prophet.
